"Kay was a ping-ping girl, five three, a curvy 112 pounds and wore her sandy hair in a flapper bob. Her nose turned up and her chin came to a sharp point. Her eyes were a bright blue-green and dreamy and even when she was angry and scowling, they would give her away as an easy touch. She didn’t like the way she looked, she thought her chin was too sharp and ugly, but Bill did. He couldn’t resist the combination of her high behind and low waist and he spent a lot of money on dressing her, insisting on being present whenever she bought clothing. He called her tannenbaum--Christmas tree.

In her twenty-seventh year and after seven years of marriage with many children she still liked to neck with her husband and even though she often considered him brainless and she had to suffer with his difficulty in supporting his family, she loved him a great deal. It had been relatively easy for Bill to talk her into moving to Greece because she was bored with her life. She was not the type for the PTA and the women’s club and she wanted to do something, see new things before she became irrevocably stuck."
